Bianca Belair was quick to celebrate her WrestleMania win with her husband and posted an emotional tribute too
WWE WrestleMania 37 had two incredible main events with their own stories. Roman Reigns defeating Edge and Daniel Bryan to remain as the Universal Champion was great, but the main event of night one was quite special too.
This was the first time two African-American women headlined a WrestleMania. It was Sasha Banks defending her title against Bianca Belair.
Belair had risen up the ranks quickly since her move to SmackDown. The EST of WWE won the 2021 Royal Rumble and decided to challenge Banks.
The match went back and forth and will go down as a WrestleMania classic. There was a lot of emotion before the match took place but there was a lot going on backstage too.
Belair was in tears after her win but she shared a clip with her husband, Montez Ford, from backstage.
Ford has won tag titles in WWE but Belair claimed he was her rock and helped her a lot in her WWE journey.
Belair thanked Ford for helping her throughout the cycle, staying up till 4AM, helping make her costume and a lot more.
Ford might have failed to win the tag titles recently, but he has always been supportive of his wife.
Bianca Belair to get a new challenger?
Banks, however, was keen on getting back to the title scene. She posted an update before this week’s SmackDown and seemed ready for the title shot.
However, another former champion, Bayley, also threw her name in the race. Bayley was the longest reigning SmackDown Women’s champion before she lost the title to Banks.
She had been missing out on the top storylines. However, The Role Model was the first real test for Belair.
The EST of WWE easily defeated Bayley before her WrestleMania 37 moment. A Banks vs Belair vs Bayley match looks great on paper, and the trio would put on quite a show if this is pushed ahead with.
