Big E reveals plans to cash in his MITB briefcase on Roman Reigns
WWE Superstar Big E has revealed that he would stay on SmackDown and cash in on Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Big E won the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match this Sunday and now can use the briefcase on either of Bobby Lashley or Roman Reigns.
The winner of the ladder match spoke with Steve Muehlhausen of DAZN, talking about his plans, saying: (h/t Wrestling Inc)
“Those are all great option. I feel Roman’s the guy though. Roman’s the guy in the industry, and if you want to be remembered, if you want to do something cool, something special, that’s a great way to do it. Roman’s on a tear. This is one of the best runs I can remember. I feel like he’s definitely hitting his stride in a way that he hasn’t before.”
“I think it’s not that difficult to make an argument for Roman being number one across all brands, across all boards. Beating him means that whoever beats him for that title, it’s going to be memorable. It’s going to mean something, and why not me?”
Reigns has been the champion since August 2020 and has defended the title against the best of the blue brand. He looks unstoppable and will now face his biggest challenge yet in a returning John Cena. Big E will keep his eyes wide open to make the most of any opportunity to win his first ever Universal Championship in his career.
However, he might have to wait for his chance as John Cena could be the one to face Reigns next.
Roman Reigns vs John Cena
John Cena made his shock return at Money in the Bank after Reigns successfully defended his title against Edge. Cena, arrived the next day on RAW to explain that he believes that Reigns is an ‘a**hole’ and is in need of a lesson.
Reigns, on the other hand, look unimpressed after Cena arrived on Sunday. The two have a history with a match at WWE No Mercy 2017, where Reigns won on the night to everyone’s surprise. This time around, Reigns is no mood to give Cena a chance to win his 17th title. He has arguably been the best WWE Superstar in the last 18 months, and keeps going on regardless of his opponents.
