Former WWE Champion Big E provides a major update on his recovery
Former WWE Champion Big E has revealed an update on his recovery, stating that his C1 vertebrae were not healing optimally.
Big E took to Twitter and revealed that he would have to wear braces for more than 4-6 weeks but told the fans not to worry as he has got a terrific support system.
“For those desirous of an update, my C1 apparently isn’t healing optimally. I’ll spend another 4-6 weeks in a brace in hopes that I can avoid a fusion. But don’t you fret! I’ve got a tremendous support system & what shall be shall be.”
Basically, the C1 vertebrae is a section of the spinal cord that controls and aids the head is moving in a different direction and bears the skull’s weight. So he has to wear braces to avoid fusion surgery.
The Big Daddy suffered a horrific neck injury on the March 11 episode of SmackDown. Big E later confirmed that he didn’t suffer spinal cord or ligament damage and therefore would not require surgery. At the time, E explained that his C1 and C6 vertebrae were fractured. He was expected to heal completely within 8-12 weeks, the regular recovery time for a fractured neck.
Big E was about to give a belly-to-belly suplex during the match, but that didn’t go as planned as he landed on the top of his head. However, The Powerhouse of Positivity did post a video where he provided a major update.
This is what he said on the video,
“I can’t thank all of you beautiful people enough for all of your concerns and your messages. It’s very heartwarming. I can move all my digits. See that. That’s nice. That’s always a good thing. Strength feels fine, but unfortunately, right now, they tell me my neck is broken. So there’s that. But once again, Thank you, everybody. I’m gonna be alright. I’ll be good. Don’t worry.”
