Big E won the title by pinning Bobby Lashley on WWE Raw
WWE superstar Big E is trending today around the WWE universe after winning the WWE title on Monday Night Raw.
After the match in a backstage segment, while talking to Kevin Patrick of WWE, he expressed his feeling about the title win.
Langston said that he is getting goosebumps just by thinking about when he got the victory. He thanked everyone, from the fans to his peers.
Langston stated that it was good that it took so much time as he now feels he has earned it. The new WWE Champion also mentioned New Day and how they used to fight to get on TV.
“Uhh, good. Good. It’s hard to contextualize something like this. But, man, it’s the moments I think that I really treasure, and man, I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about the moment I go out, the music hits, and that crowd, even though they’ve seen me a dozen times tonight, man, like, to have people, your peers, to have fans…
“I think the dream for anyone in any vocation or craft, or anything, is getting to do really cool things, to get to the top of your craft, but to do it with your best friends, and you know… I always tell this story because I never wanna forget… I will always remember the three of us just fighting to get on TV. And man, we’ve been able to do so many cool, incredible things, and I got to grow so much as a person and as a performer because of these guys, and I could not have written a better career for myself. I’m glad in many ways that it took so long because it feels earned. I’m glad that I wasn’t handed things right away, that I had time to grow, to do all the things that we had chances to do. So, I got to live the dream.”
The New Day members joined big E, and they seemed to be quite supportive about the whole process.
This week’s Monday Night Raw kicked off with Big E standing in front of Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton. In the beginning, he mentioned cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase.
The title match between Orton and Lashley ended with Lashley winning it with a spear but then putting Orton through the table with a spine buster.
Big E came in running with the referee and cashed in his briefcase. He pinned Bobby Lashly after his finishing move “The Big Ending” and won the WWE Champion.
Moments after the win, The New day arrived in the ring to celebrate with Big E. This could be the beginning of a new era in WWE.
