Big E pays tribute to Brodie Lee
This week’s Monday Night Raw opened up to a celebration hosted by New Day. The celebration was for Big E who became the WWE Champion last week by defeating Bobby Lashley. Big E while expressing his feelings on how grateful he was, mentioned the late Brodie Lee.
Big E said:
“I’m grateful for all of you below the heavens and one incredible friend above,”
Upon hearing this the crowd started chanting Brodie’s name. Big E was close friends with Lee who passed away after fighting a non covid related lung problem. Lee was only 41 when he passed away on December 26th 2020.
Big E also seemed to have discussed about Lee last week during his appearance on WWE’s The Bump. Stu Grayson of AEW’s Dark Order congratulated Big E and also commented on how happy Lee would’ve been. To this Big E replied:
“I couldn’t stop thinking about seeing and hugging him after the match. What a tremendous man our friend was.”
How did Big E win the WWE Championship?
Big E was the Money In The Bank contract holder since he won the Money In The Bank ladder match. Last week on Raw Big E found the perfect opportunity to cash it in. Bobby Lashley faced Randy Orton last week for the WWE Championship. Lashley managed to defeat Orton with the help of MVP’s distraction.
After the match Big E thought of seizing the opportunity and cashed the Money In The Bank contract and defeated Lashley to win to win the WWE Championship.
