Big E picked up another win on SmackDown but Brodie Lee is still on his mind and shared a few comments on the fallen wrestler
Big E made his return to WWE SmackDown as the new Intercontinental champion as he took on Baron Corbin.
Sami Zayn was on the commentary desk and he got into the match. Apollo Crews had to save Big E and this became a tag team match with E and Crews taking on Zayn and Corbin.
While the faces got the win in the end, E had another chance to pay tribute to Brodie Lee. The former WWE and AEW star passed away due to lung issues a week or so back, and that shocked the world of wrestling.
Many stars have paid tribute to Lee over the past week, and E did his bit by putting in a few Lee references in his post-match interview:
Rochester was where Lee was born, while Amanda and Nolan are Lee’s wife and younger son, respectively.
This was a great sly tribute by E and touches like these just show how great a person Lee was and how much his friends miss him.
E to keep his gold?
Big E has been excellent since being split from The New Day and he now will be defending his crown against Crews.
E has been a breath of fresh air and he seems so confident of his abilities. It might have been a tough decision to split The New Day up, as explained by Mark Henry, however, it seems to be working out.
It will be interesting to see how the next match goes. E should come out with the title but the pair can put on a good show and put each other over.
