WWE had other plans for Big E winning the WWE title
Big E became the WWE Champion for the first time in his career in this week’s Raw. So naturally, WWE Universe went crazy after the title win. But in reality, it was not supposed to happen on this week’s Raw.
It was reported by Andrew Zarian of Mat Men (h/t Wrestling Inc.) that the WWE title change was initially planned for the WWE Draft date on Raw.
WWE recently mentioned the 2021 WWE draft, which will be happening from October 1 SmackDown in Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore to October 4 Raw in Bridgestone in Nashville.
Big will now return to Raw, and The New Day will be reunited on the same brand again. The team has been away since the 2020 WWE Draft and were only making special appearances together.
After the win, The New Day team members of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods celebrated with Big E.
The New Day celebrates their teammates’ title win
WWE superstar Big E won the WWE Championship by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract against Bobby Lashley.
The AL-mighty had a match against Randy Orton defending his WWE title.
However, Lashley got a little injured after his title fight against Randy Orton, limping then. Only then the Big E theme song hits, and out comes Big E with the briefcase.
He got speared by The Almighty at the start of the match, but the count was only 2. Since Lashley was relatively weak on his legs, Big E targeted that only. Big E penned Lashly after giving his finishing maneuver and picked up the victory to become the WWE Champion.
In the end, when the show went off the air, we saw his New Day members making their way to the ring.
