Bobby Lashley finally won the WWE Championship on Raw but it didn’t come easy
Bobby Lashley finally reached the top of the WWE mountain after nearly 17 years as he won the WWE Championship from The Miz on Raw.
Lashley earned the opportunity of last week’s show as he defeated Braun Strowman. He had attacked Drew McIntyre after Elimination Chamber 2021 and that allowed The Miz to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase.
There was an alliance of sorts between the Miz and Lashley but the new champion tried to squirm away from his deal last week.
This week wasn’t any different as the Miz first feigned injury during the first hour of Raw. When the two did clash he ran away with the belt and a count out win was handed to Lashley.
Shane McMahon then set up a lumberjack match to ensure no one ran way and Lashley destroyed The Miz to win the title.
He became just the third African-American to hold the title but this had been coming for a while. The All Mighty has been excellent since teaming up with The Hurt Business and he reacted with some ominous words for the rest of the locker room:
The Almighty Era certainly is here and the reaction from the other lumberjacks was incredible too. Most of them seemed to be behind Lashley for this clash and many WWE stars were ecstatic at their new champion.
Lashley seems to be a great character in the locker room. Several WWE stars wished and congratulated him, including Bianca Belair, Kevin Owens and Eric Young:
Lio Rush, who was Lashley’s manager during his time in WWE, also was ecstatic that the All Mighty won the title:
While this is a great moment for Lashley and his career, there could be something special brewing too.
McIntyre is yet to receive his rematch after losing the title while The Miz should get one too.
WWE could have a huge WrestleMania event with Lashley and McIntyre meeting. The winner would get a proper WrestleMania moment thanks to some fans being in the audience.
Of course, The Miz could also get in on the action and it will be interesting to see what is next for the A-Lister.
