Booker T hopes for a Japan move for Aleister Black and Murphy after WWE release
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T claimed that Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy‘s release should pave the way to move to Japan.
Booker T was talking on the Hall of Fame podcast, with Brad Gilmore after WWE released six Superstars on Wednesday night.
Buddy Murphy signed with WWE in 2013 on a developmental deal after a few years wrestling in Australia. Aleister Black, made his debut after impressing in NXT and has wrestled all across Europe and the US for twenty years.
WWE has released quite a few big-name stars in 2021, with the likes of Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana.
Discussing Buddy Murphy’s future, Booker T did not seem impressed with the future which was in store for the Aussie. Booker T also expected a lot from him as a performer inside the ring. ( h/t Hall of Fame ).
On the podcast, he said that both the released stars would fit perfectly in New Japan Pro Wrestling ( NJPW ).
Aleister Black wrestled for Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW), Progress Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) and now WWE. He could make his move after the completion of his 90-day no compete clause.
“Aleister Black fits perfect in New Japan. He fits perfect. I know where talent will thrive when you put them in the right position. Aleister Black in Japan, Buddy Murphy in Japan, both of those guys will do very well there.”
Aleister Black’s talents would easily take him to the top of any division New Japan has to offer. Black would instantly become a hit with the fans and he could attempt to win the IWGP United States Championship, NEVER Openweight Championship or the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Black has had an incredible career already and a tour in NJPW on and off could be a ‘match made in heaven.’ Matches with the likes of Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, and Kazuchika Okada are instantly at the top of the list for “dream” matches, but Black surely would certainly be the final piece in any puzzle.
