Booker T has revealed his thoughts regarding the Stone Cold Steve Austin – Chris Jericho interview
Speaking on his “Hall of Fame” Podcast, former WWE Superstar Booker T has opened up on his thoughts about the interview set to go down between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Chris Jericho.
Ever since it was announced, Jericho’s appearance on Stone Cold’s Broken Skull Sessions has been the talk of the town. The inaugural AEW Champion will appear on the WWE Network for the interview with Austin, immediately after WrestleMania 37 goes down this weekend.
It has created a lot of hype and naturally so, considering that Jericho, who is an AEW Superstar now, will be making an appearance on WWE-owned product. And, as one would expect, this has led to talks of whether it could lead to more cross-promotion interactions between WWE and AEW in the future.
Two-time WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T, however, thinks that it is being blown out of proportions and being made bigger than it is. While he acknowledges that it is one of a kind thing, Booker doesn’t expect to see this leading into anything bigger such as cross-promotion fights or anything like that.
“I don’t think this is, you know, a moment like people think it is, as far as ‘now we’re gonna have a lot of cross promotion between AEW and WWE’. I don’t think it is what that is at all.”
Booker T then went on to add that it was how Stone Cold Steve Austin liked to go about things, calling on guests like Y2J to create a buzz.
“I think it’s just good for business.”
Booker also added that there shouldn’t be any ill-will towards such a move, as it would also give fans an insight into what AEW is all about and how it came about. He also insisted that there’s no better person than the straight-shooting Jericho to hear it from.
