Booker T talks evolution of women wrestlers and predicts what would happen if him and Roman Reigns fought inside the WWE ring
Roman Reigns and Booker T are two of the greatest professional wrestlers the world has ever seen. The latter ran the WWE show a couple of decades back while Reigns is in his heyday right now.
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if King Booker and ‘The Tribal Chief” fought against each other inside the ring, you don’t have to wait any longer to know the answer.
Booker was himself talking about this fantasy match up earlier this week with Brad Gilmore..
Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, he was asked if the female wrestlers of yesteryear such as Trish Stratus or Lita, could keep up with the agility of someone like the women wrestlers of today, like Bayley and Charlotte Flair.
To that, Booker responded by saying that it is natural for stars right now to be considered better.
Booker T says he would lose to Roman Reigns if they were to fight inside the WWE ring
That is because, according to him, each generation of wrestlers evolve and are better than the previous ones. And by that logic, he says he would lose to someone like Roman Reigns today.
“The ladies know, they’re younger, they’re faster, they’re quicker, they’re stronger. That’s just what’s called evolution. That’s like, for me, if I got in the ring with Roman Reigns, Roman Reigns would be just much more equipped to handle that situation right now. Because it is truly his time. Just like for all of those ladies once upon a time, it was their time. But right now, it is Sasha Banks’ time, it is Charlotte Flair’s time, it is Bianca Belair’s time.”
There is no doubt that the athleticism and agility of wrestlers, especially the female wrestlers, has increased a lot. Ever since the women’s revolution, focus has shifted from their looks to their wrestling abilities.
While hints of the ‘Divas’ era still remains within the show, wrestlers like Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Charlotte Flair have really taken women’s pro wrestling to the next level.
But none of this would have been possible without trailblazers like Lita or Stratus, who, as they say in cliched terms, walked so that the women in pro wrestling today can run.
