Cesaro and Roman Reigns clash for Universal Championship at WrestleMania Backlash in a couple of days
Cesaro has finally got what he deserves – a title shot. After spending a boatload of years in the WWE, he will finally be challenging for a ‘major’ title, for the very first time.
‘The King of Swing’ is set to take on ‘The Big Dog’ Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash, who of late has been phenomenal.
Only a couple of weeks ago, Cesaro entered a storyline with the ‘Tribal Chief’, but he made use of the only opportunity given to him, by a returning Theodore Long.
Cesaro was matched up against Seth Rollins on the May 7 episode of SmackDown. Whoever wins that match was supposed to go on fight Reigns for the title.
With a perfectly executed ‘Neutralizer’, Cesaro finished Rollins, to earn his ticket to challenge Reigns. And now, ‘The Swiss Superman’ is just one step away from greatness.
Elsewhere, in the Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker T claimed that Cesaro beating Reigns could be one of the biggest upsets in professional wrestling history, he even compared it with the famous win of Buster Douglas over an uber-prime Mike Tyson.
‘King Booker’ said:
“I think Cesaro is a bigger underdog going into this match with Roman Reigns. For him to pull it off, would be literally one of the biggest upsets, that we’ve had in wrestling, in quite some time. It would be a like a Buster Douglas – Mike Tyson like type win, from a boxing standpoint.”

Cesaro couldn’t contain his excitement when the poster for his title clash against Reigns was out. Taking to Instagram, ‘The King of Swing’ claimed that it was the perfect poster for his first ever Universal title shot.
Cesaro wrote:
“I feel like this is the perfect poster for my first Universal Title shot. Old school. Whatever it takes. Desire, Dedication, Hard Work.”
Cesaro will be looking forward to overcoming all odds and getting his hands on the ever-eluding Universal Championship title.
