Booker T is ready with his prediction for Edge vs Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 37
Last weekend’s Elimination Chamber saw WWE Hall of Famer Edge pick his opponent for WrestleMania 37. And it was someone we all expected.
Roman Reigns, the current WWE Universal champion, will defend his belt against ‘The Rated R Superstar’ at the grandest professional wrestling stage.
‘The Tribal Chief’ defended his title against Daniel Bryan at the PPV, and Edge appeared just after the bell rang in that match. He hit Reigns with a Spear and pointed to the WrestleMania logo.
And since then, predictions for the match have been flowing in. The latest to give his two cents on the matter is former WWE wrestler Booker T, who was on the Hall of Fame podcast (h/t 411mania) this week.
Booker started out in a less-favourable fashion towards Edge and heaped praise on Reigns.
“It’s gonna be a hard row to hoe as far as going out there and actually matching up. Honestly, he doesn’t match up with Roman.”
Booker T has a feel-good prediction for WrestleMania 37 bout between Edge and Roman Reigns
Despite talking up Reigns throughout his interview, King Booker concluded by saying that for him, Edge winning the match would be a fairy-tale result.
“If I had to bet money on it, it would be a great feel-good story if Edge went out there and pulled it off after retirement. He wins the Rumble, going to WrestleMania, takes on Roman, and wins.
“Cinderella story. Everybody would love to see it, but normally, the story doesn’t turn out that way in the end in the WWE. Hopefully, the people get what they want, but a lot of people may want to see Roman.”
Same here, King Booker. The WWE Universe has really identified with Edge since his big return in at Royal Rumble 2020.
A win at WrestleMania against ‘The Big Dog’ seems like the crescendo of his career; the crowning moment of decades of wrestling.
It remains to be seen who actually wins, but it is undeniable that Edge winning a title in front a packed arena would be one of the greatest moments in the promotion’s recent history.
