WWE Hall of Famer Booker T reveals WALTER as his choice to dethrone Roman Reigns
WWE legend Booker T thinks that this NXT star can put some breaks into the momentum of WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Reigns have been in top form for a long time now and has dominated with the Universal Title.
While talking in his Hall of Fame podcast (h/t sescoops), Booker T mentioned that NXT star WALTER could be the guy who could make this happen and defeat Reigns. He said that Walter is International and could bring many eyes to American professional wrestling from other parts of the world. Booker also mentioned UFC stars Cyril Gane and Francis Ngnnou.
“But for me, I’m looking to make somebody. I’m looking to make somebody in big fashion, in a huge way. And there again, man I look at that kid WALTER and I say he’s a star. He’s what wrestling is today. He’s international, he can bring so many eyes to American professional wrestling from that side of the world. It’s not gonna be funny. I look at this thing almost like the UFC does with that Ciryl Gane and Francis Ngannou matchup coming up. There’s gonna be a lot of eyes on that thing, there’s gonna be a lot of money made. At the end of the day, if we’re not looking at it that way, we’re just gonna have another match and we’re gonna just flip the title, we’re gonna lose.”
NXT star WALTER had an impressive time with the NXT United Kingdom Championship. He held the title for 870 days, and his reign was ended by Ilja Dragunov at TakeOver 36.
Booker T talks about another star who can end the reign of Roman Reigns other than WALTER
WWE Hall of Famer said that Brock Lesnar could be the one who can surely take a moment and defeat Roman Reigns. He also mentioned Undertaker’s streak being broken.
“For me, I’ve been talking about this for a minute now, to beat Roman Reigns you gotta really make that a moment. I always say with moments, you only get a chance to have it one time and it goes away pretty much as far as these kind of situations. Undertaker’s streak being broken, stuff like that. For me, you look at Brock Lesnar. Could he be the guy? Of course.
The Tribal Chief is set to take on the Beast Incarnate at WWE Crown Jewel on October 21, with the WWE Universal title on the line. It would be interesting to see if the Beast can end Reigns’ title reign.
