WWE Hall of Famer Booker T shows his support for Mustafa Ali’s release request
WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali recently requested his release from WWE. Several WWE Superstars and fans have reacted to this and said their opinion on it.
Two time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently appeared on the Reality of Wrestling podcast, where he showed his support towards Mustafa’s decision.
“I saw the message that he wanted to be able to deliver to the world about his release. If you don’t feel happy somewhere, the best thing for you is to get out of there, but sometimes you could be not too happy. If the check is right, you can look past all of that and maybe the check was not enough to make him happy enough to look past that.”
Mustafa Ali requests release from WWE after an argument with Vince McMahon
The message given by Ali on Twitter goes like this,
“I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling,” Ali wrote. “Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE. Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE.”
According to Fightful, many inquiries have been made about Ali’s absence from WWE in recent weeks. He has not been featured on WWE programming since November 2021.
Even though he has been available to return since the first week of December 2021, Ali hasn’t been pitched anything new to portray. The new America vignette which was planned for him was apparently scrapped.
Vince McMahon wanted “something Mustafa would have never done” instead of Ali’s pursuit. This reportedly led to a heated argument between the two, and since then, the WWE star hasn’t been attending shows and has requested his release as well.
Ali signed with WWE in 2016 to wrestle in the Cruiserweight Classic. He last wrestled on the October 29, 2021, episode of SmackDown, losing to Drew McIntyre.
