Braun Strowman achieved a historic feat on WWE RAW this week
This week’s episode of WWE RAW saw Braun Strowman compete in three different type of matches, all in one night.
Now, this is nothing new. Wrestlers like Triple H (September 1999), Chris Jericho (May 2000), and Daniel Bryan (during his road to WrestleMania 30) have already done that.
But it’s the type of those matches which Strowman fought in that makes the feat unique. At least that’s what @WWEStats on Twitter claims.
The account dedicated to posting WWE statistics shared a tweet which highlighted Strowman’s achievement on this week’s RAW.
“You requested it, we researched it. After reviewing nearly 1,000 records, our data shows that this Monday on #WWERaw, @BraunStrowman became the 1st Superstar in the history of @WWE/#WCW/#ECW to compete in televised Singles, Tag Team AND Handicap Matches – all in the same night.”
Brown Strowman competed in a handicap, tag team, and singles match on this week’s WWE RAW
The night started off for the ‘Monster Among Men’ by him taking on T-BAR and MACE in a 2-on-1 handicap match.
The match, originally intended to be a tag team match for Strowman alongside Drew McIntyre, was changed to a handicap match initially after ‘The Mountain of a Man’ requested it.
He wanted to show that he could do what McIntyre couldn’t last week; beat T-BAR and MACE all by himself.
The match then turned to a tag team fight when McIntyre came in to save Strowman from being double-teamed illegally. The Scotsman unintentionally cost his team the match by a wrongly-timed Irish whip.
This led to a loss via count-out and an argument between McIntyre and Strowman that led to a singles match. Strowman convinced Adam Pearce to make sure he gets a shot at the WWE championship at WrestleMania Backlash if he beats ‘The Chosen One’.
And that he did; quite comprehensively as well. Strowman will now compete in a triple threat match for the WWE title against the Scotsman and Bobby Lashley next month on May 16th.
