AEW’s Colt Cabana eager to fight released WWE star Braun Strowman in a unique match
Colt Cabana has shown his will to fight the hottest free agent right now in Braun Strowman.
Cabana joined AEW in February when he helped SCU fend off Dark Order. Now, in his latest interview on Straight to Hell, he has teased the possibility of facing Strowman in a special Get These Hands Match on AEW, saying: (h/t Cultaholic)
“You know what, I would be the first to wrestle Braun Strowman. Colt Cabana is challenging Braun Strowman [laughs] and it doesn’t even have to be in AEW, it could be anywhere. We’d both have to wear those Hulk hands. It’s a Get These Hands Match [laughs]. There’s Hulk hands on a chain, and there’s a ladder, and we literally have to get these hands, and the first one to get these hands can use these hands” he said.
Strowman was released by WWE in a shock move. However, he is now free to sign for any promotion. The former WWE Champion has been reportedly demanding hefty figures to join rival companies including Tony Khan’s AEW.
However, Cabana believed that the environment in AEW would see many stars, including Strowman, keen to join the company:
“I’m going to assume that everyone wants to work for AEW. It’s so great, it’s such a wonderful place to wrestle and I’m not just saying that. I’ve been in the WWE locker room, I’ve been in the AEW locker room, I’ve been in New Japan, Ring of Honor, even did some matches in IMPACT, and it’s just a fun environment.”
Cabana also praised the atmosphere working in AEW and thanked Tony Khan for allowing him to compete side-by-side for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
What would Strowman bring to AEW?
Strowman is one of the most accomplished wrestlers in recent WWE history. He has been part of some iconic moments on WWE Raw. His feud with Reigns is consider the greatest, having overthrown an ambulance and taking part in brutal matches.
‘The Monster Among Men’ has also tasted gold in his WWE career. He has won the Universal Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the RAW Tag Team Championship. He is also a former Money in the Bank and winner of the Greatest Royal Rumble.
Strowman is surely the first name on every promotion’s list as he was surprisingly released by WWE in early June. He will be looking to make a strong comeback as soon as he returns.
