Braun Strowman has his title shot against Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley
This week’s episode of WWE RAW saw Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre take on T-BAR and MACE in a rematch after last week’s handicap fight was a DQ.
McIntyre and Strowman lost via count-out and things started to heat up between them. This led to the ‘Chosen One’ demanding a singles match against ‘The Monster Among Men’.
Adam Pearce granted the wish but also agreed to Strowman’s condition that if he beats McIntyre, then he would be included in the title fight at WrestleMania Backlash.
Strowman, of course, went on to defeat the Scotsman despite interferences from the likes of MVP, Bobby Lashley, T-BAR and MACE.
This now means that the WWE title fight between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley at Backlash on 16th May is a triple threat match with Strowman included.
The two big men were amazing in their singles match earlier this week and Strowman had some words of praise afterwards as he shared a photo of on his Instagram account.
His caption read, “That was one hell of a fight!!!!! I tip my hat to @dmcintyrewwe he is a tuff son of a bitch. But I am where I belong and this is gonna be a war for the ages!!!!!!! #MainEventMonster #BattleOfTheTitans #Titan #Gow“
In all honesty, this just seems to be WWE’s way of extending the match’s duration at Backlash otherwise it really serves no purpose.
But one saving grace here is the quality of the three on display. McIntyre, Lashley, and Strowman are elite wrestlers.
But so were Daniel Bryan, Edge, and Roman Reigns. And yet, their WrestleMania triple threat match always felt like it had one man too many. Hopefully, that is not the case this time around.
