‘The Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman might make his return to the WWE
Braun Strowman, who terrorized the WWE during his tenure in the promotion was released in the most unlikeliest of times.
‘The New Face of Destruction’ was released from the promotion, just three weeks after he took part in a WWE Championship, triple-threat match against Drew McIntyre and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash.
WrestleMania Backlash was held on the 17th of May, and on the 2nd of June, Strowman was the biggest name to be released from the promotion, amongst a total of 6.
No one saw that coming, but that has been the case with the promotion in recent years – unexpected roster cuts, irrespective of the superstars’ value or presence.
Following his release, there were rumors that Strowman would be joining the AEW. In fact, it was being reported that Strowman would land a home soon.
The latest development is that, Strowman might be returning to the WWE, after AEW signed several ‘former WWE stars’, with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan in line to be announced, as well. The news was first reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Earlier this week, the WWE had also added new Strowman merchandise to the WWE Shop despite him not being a part of the roster, which also fueled speculations that he might be back soon.
It is also worth noting that, Strowman’s 90-day non-complete clause will end on the 31st of August, later this year. Once it ends, Strowman will become a free agent.
