Braun Strowman was recently released from the WWE as a part of their budget cuts

Just a month ago Braun Strowman found himself in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship, at WrestleMania Backlash.

But, just a fortnight later, on the 2nd of June, he was shockingly released by the promotion. Although, he would find a new shelter soon, he still hasn’t landed a deal with any of the other promotions.

Elsewhere, Westin Blake (Wesley Blake in the WWE), who was a part of the Forgotten Sons for an extended period of time, was also released by the promotion earlier this year. He had only made his WWE main roster debut in April 2020.

Following his release, he announced on social media that he would be going by the name Westin Blake.

Blake recently shared a promo of himself titled ‘Westin Blake Going Home’, where he could be seen walking along a quiet road.

He captioned the post:

“Now, I must go back. Back where I came from to see how I got here. To understand what I need to do…To be who I want to be.”

Following his post, Strowman took to his Instagram to shower praises on Blake. He wrote on his Instagram stories:

Westin Blake reveals he never spoke to Vince McMahon

Former NXT tag-team champion Westin Blake made his main roster debut in April 2020 on WWE SmackDown. Things were going fine until Jaxson Ryker, a part of the Forgotten Sons stable tweeted in support of then-President Donald Trump.

The tweet received severe backlash from the fans, and Forgotten Sons stable was taken off television. The team split soon, and the superstars were eventually released as well.

In a recent interview with John Poz, Blake revealed that he never talked to WWE CEO Vince McMahon even once during his main roster tenure.

“I never talked to him in the whole time that I was up there. The only time I did see him was after our match at Money in the Bank. I saw him there and he talked to all the teams for a little bit, probably two or three minutes, and that’s about the only time that I really had any interaction with him.” [via Reportdoor]
