Bray Wyatt was a part of a high-profile release from the WWE in July this year
On the 31st of July, 2021, Bray Wyatt was released from the WWE. He had been an integral part of the promotion for 11 years.
Especially in the later years, his contribution to the WWE was invaluable. Despite making sporadic appearances in early 2021, Wyatt was expected to return to action full-time.
Just when it looked like he might return to regular action, he was released by the promotion.
It was initially announced that he was released due to the usual budget cut, which has seen a ton of talents being shown the door.
However, the latest development is that, there might be more to his release than budget cuts alone.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, performance issues in the ring, trouble with weight, and being a little difficult in the lead-up to his release, have been other reasons for the release of Wyatt.
Bray Wyatt has a fornight left in his WWE contract
Having left the promotion on July 31 this year, Bray Wyatt will see his WWE contact end on the 29th of October.
The WWE has a non-compete clause that runs for 90 days, after a Superstar is released.
With Wyatt becoming available at the end of this month, a lot of promotions are already on the hunt for the experienced Superstar.
Impact Wrestling and AEW have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Wyatt.
