Shinsuke Nakamura’s position in WWE is very confusing right now

WWE signed Shinsuke Nakamura in early 2016. It was considered a major coup for the company. He was a three-time IWGP Champion and was considered one of the greats of New Japan Pro Wrestling at the time.

After signing with WWE, they put him into the spotlight in NXT. He had some fantastic matches with Finn Balor, Samoa Joe and several others. Later, Nakamura made his debut on SmackDown for an immediate splash.

He soon became a fan favourite as his theme song quickly became a favourite of the WWE universe. He would often be accompanied by a rock guitarist or an orchestra at large events, and fans really got along with this.

Nakamura was about to challenge Roman Reigns during an episode, but nothing happened. According to Ringside News,

“Nakamura is there for us to hit when it’s time.” A tenured member of the creative team confirmed that Nakamura’s match against Reigns “won’t be a ‘stadium show,'” but he is “there for us to use with Roman when we need it.”

Nakamura hasn’t been featured on WWE television for the past few weeks, but we can expect his return any time soon.
