‘The Beast Incarnate’ had considered retirement after WrestleMania 36
Brock Lesnar is the current ‘reigning, defending, and undisputed‘ WWE champion. Brock won the title back at Elimination chamber after defeating five other superstars. Lesnar is currently heading into WrestleMania 38 to face Roman Reigns.
Recently, during an appearance on The Michael Kay Show, the current WWE champion revealed that he had noted retirement after the defeat at the hands of Drew McIntyre. He stated that after that match, his contract was up he was satisfied with the “full circle” conclusion of his career.
Lesnar said, “When I was younger, I thought I want to retire when I’m 40,” said Lesnar. “And I actually retired when COVID hit and my contract was up in 2020, I think. So full circle Brock Lesnar story, had my first pro wrestling in Hamil. Minnesota in a garage in front of no people. And 20 years later, I’m the WWE Heavyweight Champion of the world, had my wrestling match in a warehouse in front of no people. So 20 years, full cycle, full revolution. And I’m alright cool that’s, I’m out. My contract was up.”
He was further asked, what motivated his return. To which he cheekily replied, “Cha-ching.” By which he symbolised money.
Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns-biggest WrestleMania match of all time
Lesnar had his last WrestleMania match against Drew McIntyre in 2020, in a losing bout. Post which, he took a year off. Lesnar came back last year and got involved in a feud with Roman Reigns. Ever since that moment, their feud started boiling. And will be culminated at the Grandest stage of them all this year.
Lesnar is now back and is more stronger than ever. He is currently in one of the best shapes of his life and fans are loving his babyface persona. It is to be seen what upholds for him after the marquee event. He stated, “I don’t want to get ahead of myself here,” said Lesnar. “I’m excited for this match [with Reigns]. I think what’s special about what we’re in right now is that people can feel the passion, you know, getting back to Paul Heyman and Roman, but I’m not there yet. I don’t sit at home because I’m deeply invested in what’s in front of me.”
