WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar is rumoured to make a return against Roman Reigns
WWE star Brock Lesnar is set to return to the company after a lengthy absence from the scene. There is a possibility of Lesnar returning at Summerslam 2021.
But according to Dave Meltzer’s Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, there are no plans of Lesnar returning on WWE Raw to win back the WWE Championship held by Bobby Lashley.
Now it has emerged that WWE are working towards a storyline with Roman Reigns on SmackDown. Reigns is one of the longest serving champions on SmackDown.
Lesnar‘s last appearance was at WrestleMania 36, where he lost the WWE crown to Drew McIntyre. McIntyre, himself is on the quest for redemption after losing twice to Lashley.
There is no urgency from the creative team for Lesnar to step foot on WWE Raw soon. Instead, there is a wait for Reigns to culminate his current feud. Reigns was seen manhandling the Mysterio family – battering Dominik and his father Rey Mysterio.
Reigns had a good feud at this year’s WrestleMania, where he faced Edge and Daniel Bryan. The trio were part of a staggering match. However, Reigns was victorious in that bout, after a marathon struggle.
Reigns and Lesnar were part of a feud at WrestleMania 31, before Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins cashed in to win the WWE Championship. Reigns lost out in the rematch at WrestleMania 34, on his second attempt. Lesnar prevailed once gain in 2018, beating Reigns at the Greatest Royal Rumble Event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
However, Reigns right now looks like one of the most threatening wrestlers in the entire roster. His ‘Tribal Chief’ gimmick has taken his character to another level. Lesnar fits perfectly as Reigns’ next opponent.
The WWE team should decide and wait for the proper moment to get these giants to battle it out and resume their rivalry.
