Drew McIntyre finisher could have significance in Brock Lesnar plans

Brock Lesnar might have lost the chance to win the WWE Universal title from Roman Reigns, but WWE seems to be making some big plans for The Beast.

Lesnar returning to WWE and taking on Reigns led to a lot of talk of the stars possibly fighting for a while.

However, it seems that there could be another big star on Lesnar’s radar. Dave Meltzer (h/t Give Me Sport) claims that Drew McIntyre using the kimura submission could be an indication of future battles.

McIntyre showed off his new finisher against Mustafa Ali on SmackDown. The Scot is known for his Claymore finisher, but this certainly raised a few eyebrows when he used the submission manoeuvre.

Meltzer claimed that this finisher was used for a specific reason, however, that wasn’t specified (h/t Give Me Sport):

“There was significance in Drew McIntyre using the Kimura (Brock Lesnar’s submission move) on Mustafa Ali on SmackDown.”

There wasn’t a clear indication that Lesnar and McIntyre will clash after the special finisher. However, this could lead to a huge match between the two former champions.

Brock Lesnar has lost to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania

While Lesnar vs Reigns certainly got a lot of people talking, The Beast taking on McIntyre will refresh memories from a couple of years back.

Lesnar lost the WWE title to McIntyre at WrestleMania 36, and the pair could clash again in the future. McIntyre also eliminated Lesnar from the 2020 Royal Rumble, and this is one rivalry that WWE can flesh out.

However, fans will have to wait a while for this story to develop. Lesnar was recently fined $1million by Adam Pearce for his attack on the WWE official.

Lesnar was upset over how he lost his match against Reigns and vented his fury on the WWE officials. Pearce also was on the side of the attack and saw his pants get ripped.

It will be interesting to see when Lesnar returns, but when he does, McIntyre could be waiting.
