Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam would be a fantasy match-up come true for many fans
WWE champion Bobby Lashley has wanted to fight Brock Lesnar for a long time now, and he hasn’t even masked his intentions well.
‘The Almighty’ has just straight up come out multiple times and almost begged Lesnar to come face-to-face with him.
And with Lashley billed as a strong champion on RAW now, it could probably come true. Booker T, talking on his Hall of Fame podcast, talked about just this possibility.
King Booker opined that if the two do come together at Summerslam, it would be the best ‘Big Man’ match at WWE ever.
“Together, I think those two guys could- I think that would be one of the best Big Man matches we’ve ever seen in the business; because both of guys know how to work now at this level.”
Could Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley happen at WWE SummerSlam?
Booker then added how a match between the two could be as big as his Cyber Sunday match for the Heavyweight Championship in November 2006 when it comes to the ‘money’ aspect.
“Brock Lesnar showing up and hearing that music and Paul Heyman’s there by his side… just that picture right there is worth the price of admission. I remember working with Big Show and John Cena in the Champion of Champions match. Nobody thought I was going to win that match. If there was money in Vegas on that match, I don’t think too many people had odds on Booker T walking out that match the Champion of Champions. For Bobby Lashley to be in a match somewhere like that, Champion of Champions match, and then actually winning it in a dominant fashion; MVP cutting a great promo on the world as far as Bobby Lashley being the ‘All Mighty’, and then the music hits [Brock Lesnar’s entry music]. That right there. I get goosebumps. Something like that I can buy into… that’s money.”
Could this be possible? Sure. SummerSlam is a few months away and Lesnar has been out of action for far too long.
He was last seen at WrestleMania 36 when he lost his WWE title to Drew McIntyre, with reports stating that he did not renew his contract with the promotion then.
There’s also enough time to bloat Lashley’s character even more and get him a few extra wins under his belt so that by the time Lesnar comes, Lashley can match him in stature to some extent at least.
