Bully Ray thinks WWE did not anything to get Charlotte Flair sympathy from the audience
It has been well over a month since Ric Flair betrayed his daughter Charlotte Flair on WWE RAW.
‘The Nature Boy’ has since been involved in a romantic angle with Lacey Evans. In light of this, former WWE wrestler Bully Ray thinks that the promotion is not doing enough to get ‘The Queen’ any sort of sympathy from the audience.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, Ray stated that such a situation in real life would draw sympathy for Charlotte.
He wants that to be replicated on the show. Ray acknowledges that such sympathy cannot come overnight, but he wants WWE to at least get that process up and running.
“I felt like last night, they could have taken the first step into getting sympathy on Charlotte Flair. In no way, shape, or form would it happen in one night, but in order for it to happen, you need night one. And last night should have been night one.”
WWE needs to do more to establish Charlotte Flair as the babyface
And according to him, this week’s Monday Night RAW was the perfect time to start it. However, WWE botched it as they did not manage to get Charlotte out of her larger than life persona.
“When Charlotte came out last night, she should not have come out in the robe. When Charlotte walked down that ring last night, she should not have walked down like a 13-time world champion… Strip down the pomp and circumstance and make it real.”
He and Dave LaGreca think that a simple jeans and t-shirt would have sufficed. Their comments make sense, as even after the fight, Charlotte was her usual cocky self on social media.
If the promotion can re-adjust her character going forward accordingly, then it could really help to establish Charlotte as the face in this storyline.
Otherwise, it has become difficult to figure out who the heel is in the situation, especially after Evans stated that her relationship with Ric Flair is platonic.
