Bully Ray explains why Rey and Dominik Mysterio should not have won tag titles at WrestleMania Backlash

Rey and Dominik Mysterio became the first father-son duo to hold the tag titles in WWE

History was made at WrestleMania Backlash as Rey and Dominik Mysterio became the first father-son duo to hold tag team titles.

They defeated Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler to win the SmackDown tag team titles. The father son pair had to overcome the adds as Dominik was attacked before the match.

Rey battled on in a 2-on-1 match before a limping Dominik made it to the ring. He was able to hit Ziggler with a super kick before getting the win with his father.

WWE also mentioned the father-son pairs to have held the titles with names like The Rock and Rikishi coming up.

Another surprising name was that of Jason Jordan and Kurt Angle. They were part of a storyline where Jordan was the illegitimate son of Angle but this cannot be considered as a real father-son duo.

Bully Ray unhappy with decision from WWE

Former WWE star Bully Ray shared his thoughts on the finish and brought up why the father-son duo should not have won the gold.

Ray, who has been critical of WWE’s creative and planning, didn’t think this was the right time to hand the titles to them.

He was bringing up how Father’s day coincides with Money in the Bank this year, and that would have been the perfect setting for the Mysterios to win the gold.

Ray did concede that this was a great match but he does make a lot of sense. Timing has been a bit of a problem for WWE when it comes to title changes.

Natalya and Tamina should have ridden their wave to win the Women’s tag titles at WrestleMania 37. While they failed to do that, WWE pulled the trigger and the titles did change hands on SmackDown.

Tamina and Natalya should have gotten their chance to celebrate with the fans, but they will have to wait a bit before they get their chance to do that.
