Lacey Evans getting pregnant has shut off the storyline between her, Ric Flair, and Charlotte Flair
Last week it was announced that Lacey Evans was pregnant. The show, albeit jokingly, implied that Ric Flair was the father. Evans and ‘The Nature Boy’ did have a romantic angle going on for a while.
But it was confirmed after the show that, obviously, Evans was pregnant with her real-life partner, Alfonso Estrella. The two already have a daughter together and this would be their second kid together.
That has, however, led to her WWE storyline being abruptly stopped. This led to the promotion hastily tying the ends of that plot on this week’s WWE RAW.
Charlotte Flair was backstage with her father, Ric. The two conversed emotionally where the WWE Grand Slam champion ranted at her father that she appreciated the pedestal he has given her, but she needs her own identity.
She said that she wanted to be her own self inside the ring. On some level, it felt real, at least to former WWE star Bully Ray, who made his feelings known on Twitter.
This is a point the WWE Hall of Famer has made several times in the past. While some haven’t been that happy with this storyline, Ric and Charlotte are being quite real regarding their relationship in WWE.
What next for Charlotte Flair after her tussle with Ric Flair?
Now that seemed like a good way to end their storyline, but it seemed repetitive. It seems like they do this promo quite often without actually acting on it
Charlotte still has the robes, the surname, the theme music, the variation of the figure 4 amongst other things that keeps reminding the WWE universe that she is the daughter of The Nature Boy.
Nevertheless, given the time, it seemed fitting, but if WWE really wants to act on the promo, they need to separate the father-daughter duo in the next storyline. That could be where this is heading to. It also remains to be seen what happens with the RAW women’s championship now.
Evans was scheduled to take on Asuka for the belt at the Elimination Chamber, but the Japanese was pulled from the card altogether after Evans’ withdrawal.
