The Undisputed ERA has been a force to reckon with on WWE NXT
On August 19th, 2017, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish formed The Undisputed ERA after signing with WWE.
Since then, the stable has become an important part of the Golden Brand. They were later joined by Roderick Strong after a long-standing feud with him inside the ring.
Represented by Cole and O’Reilly, The Undisputed ERA won the 2018 Dusty Rhodes Classic. And recently, they were named as the first of the 8 tag teams that would participate in the 2021 edition of the aforementioned tag team competition.
This time, they would be represented by Cole and Strong. After an impressive win against Team McAfee at NXT Takeover: WarGames, O’Reilly earned a chance at Finn Balor’s belt, but squandered the opportunity on this week’s New Year Evil.
With talks of the stable making the step up to the main roster, Bully Ray feels that they may get lost in the crowd.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, Ray thinks their small size might not work in their favour.
“They’re small dudes… on the main roster, they are going to get lost in the shuffle on stature alone. They will probably be working with the Lucha House Party.”
Ray adds that if their future is to be a small-time gimmick on the main roster, then it’s better that they stay on NXT.
Dave LaGreca went on to add that Vince McMahon might not see the stable as someone who could be main event-ers. He cited Keith Lee as an example of how the main roster is brutal to the NXT wrestlers.
“I can’t see a Vince McMahon looking at those guys and saying ‘alright, let’s put a rocket on these guys’ backs and shoot them to the main event, because that’s just not going to happen. Look at what they did with Keith Lee.”
