“Rooted in deep psychology” – Bully Ray tries to explain why Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks are getting another tag title shot

Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks will get another shot at the Women’s tag titles at Fastlane

Bully Ray and Dave LaGreca didn’t seem too impressed by WWE setting up Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks for the Women’s tag titles.

The pair, a newly formed team, had already fought once for the gold. However, they lost that match to the champions, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.

Banks and Belair are also to meet at WrestleMania where The Boss defends her title. While WWE could be building up for that, the fact that Belair and Banks are fighting for the title doesn’t sit well with LaGreca.

He was on the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast and brought this up. LaGreca asked WWE Hall of Famer, Ray, why this was set up despite Belair and Banks losing at Elimination Chamber 2021.

Ray had a hilarious answer to this but the setup was just as great:

“I will give you the explanation. It might be hard to follow though since it is rooted in deep psychology within creative.

“Are you ready? Because.”

Ray was laughing off screen and told LaGreca to asked him the question again. LaGreca did that and Ray had the same one word answer for WWE setting up this match.

WWE missing a spot with Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks

WrestleMania is just over a month away and it is a little crazy how Banks and Belair are teaming up before the SmackDown title clash at WrestleMania 37.

Jax and Baszler need to fight someone else while Belair and Banks should build up their rivalry. The Boss and the EST of WWE have tried to do that thanks to Reginald, but it hasn’t clicked all that much.

WWE are wasting a great singles match by not setting it up well and rather concentrating on a tag title match.

This, however, shows how much of a problem their women’s tag division is. They might not have the depth needed to push Jax and Baszler, and it will be interesting to see if Belair and Banks win.

LaGreca also wasn’t happy with what Kevin Owens said on his show. Belair and Banks were present and KO claimed that both were two of the best women wrestlers ever.

That compliment seemed to be made in a bit of haste. Banks is one of the greatest ever but LaGreca claimed that Belair had only just made it to the main roster and needed more matches to prove her greatness.
