The Hurt Business split on WWE RAW this week which shocked many fans and fellow professionals alike
This week’s WWE RAW saw one of the most powerful factions in wrestling, The Hurt Business, come to an end.
MVP and Bobby Lashley started the proceedings inside the ring and the WWE champion offered a title shot to anyone who could beat Drew McIntyre on the show.
But as the episode went on, Lashley directed his frustration towards the other two THB members, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin. He criticized them for losing to ‘The Chosen One’ in a 2-on-1 handicap match.
Things got heated and Benjamin shoved MVP. This angered Lashley even further, who then proceeded to attack the duo.
This was a surprising end for a stable that was doing so well, and trying to make sense of it on the Busted Open podcast earlier this week was former WWE superstar, Bully Ray.
He mentioned that the WWE Creative team split the stable because they wanted to focus on Lashley and MVP, and that they did not need any tag team guys cramping their style.
“You have to understand how WWE Creative thinks. Bobby Lashley is the World Heavyweight champion. MVP is his manager, spokesperson, mouthpiece, whatever you wanna call him… They don’t need any tag team guys watering down their spotlight.
He added that his comments are not an attack on Cedric Alexander or Shelton Benjamin because it could have been anyone other than them in that same spot, and they would have gotten the same treatment.
“And that’s not a shot at Cedric or Shelton because it could be any two guys standing next to Bobby Lashley, the WWE would view it as watering down their spotlight. This is now the Bobby Lashley show and the MVP show moving into WrestleMania.”
Bully is probably right when he says this and on another note, this will also allow Cedric and Shelton to build their individual identities on the show which is separate from THB.
