Kane started his WWE career as Fake Diesel/Kevin Nash
Former WWE commentator Jim Ross opened up on his role during Kane’s run as Fake Diesel/Kevin Nash.
Glenn Jacobs wasn’t always known as The Undertaker’s brother in WWE. The Big Red Machine started his career playing different roles in the late 90s and one was that of Fake Diesel.
He was partnered with a Fake Razor Ramon and this was a story done by WWE taking shots at their former employees.
The real Kevin Nash and Razor Ramon had left the company during the last 90s and WWE used Kane to fill up the void of Nash.
Kane also was made to look like Nash with a similar hairstyle and attire, and Jim Ross also played his role in all this.
Kane was asked about this storyline on Twitter by a fan and the Knox County mayor replied:
“The idea was that @JrsBBQ wanted to show he was the “star maker” to get back at Vince. Didn’t quite work out that way.”
It was JR who introduced the pair as Diesel and Ramon, and the current AEW commentator also had his say about the run:
“It was absurd, Glenn.
“I’m sorry that we were both implicated but it lead to better days.
“Can’t shine sh!t!”
Both made it big in wrestling
The angle was heavily criticised back then, but Ross and Kane still made great careers in WWE. Ross is considered as one of the greatest commentators in the history of wrestling and is doing a stellar job on AEW.
While he isn’t a regular due to the coronavirus pandemic, JR is still calling the biggest matches in the promotion.
Kane/Jacobs took a different role as he entered politics and is now the mayor of Knox County. That has made it difficult for him to appear on WWE regularly. However, his run as Kane was one of the great parts during the attitude era.
