The 2021 Royal Rumble had a lot of surprise appearances on the show and here is a lit of all of them
WrestleMania season is upon us and we finally have our 2021 Royal Rumble winners. However, the Rumble is also known for some surprises along the way, especially in the two big matches.
WWE have expanded the Rumble to allow the women to showcase their talents too. The women’s Royal Rumble also has 30 spots but WWE often keeps some for surprise entrants and also legends trying to make a splash.
The same happened this year too in both the matches and here are all the surprise entries during the men’s and women’s Rumble matches.
While Bayley and Naomi started off the match, the real star was Bianca Belair. The EST of WWE entered third and eliminated four women before winning the Rumble for the first time. She lasted 56 minutes and 49 seconds and will feature at WrestleMania as WWE banks big on her.
However, there were some surprise entrants too. Former WWE star Jillian Hall made her way as the #8 entry but she was eliminated by Billie Kay without doing much damage.
Victoria, a former women’s champion, also came on WWE after several years in the #10 position. She also didn’t eliminate anyone before being dumped out by Shayna Baszler.
Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson was one of the big surprises and she too didn’t eliminate anyone before getting done by Baszler.
Alicia Fox showed off some skills too but again, didn’t do much in the match. One big surprise was seeing the return of Lana. She had been out before the New Year but the Ravishing Russian was back and in a different mood set.
Edge and Randy Orton started off the match, and they even ended the match with the Rated-R Superstar outwitting and outlasting the Viper.
Edge won the Royal Rumble for the second time in his career and he will headline WrestleMania. The Canadian lasted 58 minutes and 28 seconds as he sent the WWE Universe wild. However, there were some fun moments in the men’s match too.
Carlito came out with his apple and all and looked bigger and better than ever. Caribbean Cool didn’t get any eliminations but impressed a lot in his eight minutes in the ring.
Kane was another surprise in the show. While he might not have retired from WWE, he is now a mayor and it was fun seeing the Big Red Machine before he got eliminated by Damian Priest.
The two big surprises were seeing The Hurricane and Christian appear. Christian was one of the final five and there was a great moment when he and best friend, Edge, embraced.
However, it was Edge who was left to celebrate another incredible night.
