Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay won the Impact Knockout Tag titles
Former WWE stars Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay won the Impact Knockout Tag team titles at the Bound for Glory PPV. In response to this triumph Lee took to Twitter to talk about how she feels there is more to come for her. Take a look at what she had to say:
“All I know is that every time I think I’ve hit my ceiling I go higher than I’ve ever been. AND NEW! @IMPACTWRESTLING Knockouts Tag Team Champions!
@JessicaMcKay”
Lee certainly believes that every time she feels like she’s done enough she goes even higher. Fans would love to see the dup reach even greater heights in their wrestling career after their recent triumph. The duo defeated Havok and Rosemary in under 10 minutes to clinch their first title in the Impact Wrestling promotion.
Why were Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay released from the WWE?
Both Lee and McKay were in the WWE since 2015. The duo made their main roster debut in 2016 dubbed as the IIconics. The duo stuck together until 2020’s edition of the WWE draft when McKay was drafted to SmackDown.
A year later on 15th April 2021, WWE released both Lee and McKay from their WWE contracts as a part of the budget cuts that the company was making. The duo missed out on in ring action for nearly two months before making their appearance on Impact Wrestling’s Bound for Glory.
Formerly known as IIconics, the Aussie duo have entered the Impact Wrestling with the name of IInspiration. They have clinched the title in their very first appearance and it will be interesting to see them moving forward.
