“The Swiss Superman” has let go of a contract extension with WWE. WWE and Cesaro had been in negotiations over a new agreement. Unfortunately, it didn’t come to fruition.

Cesaro was a former WWE United States Champion (WWE)

WWE has released many superstars over the last couple of years. Many promising superstars have been abruptly shown the door. WWE had listed the pandemic and the necessity for cost-cutting as the reasons behind the releases.

EC3, Erick Rowan, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, No Way Jose, Akam, Rezar, Sara Logan, Rusev, Aleister Black, Andrade and Bray Wyatt are some of the superstars who were released. All these wrestlers had promise but were unfortunately released from the company.

According to reports, Cesaro turned down the contract. By virtue of this, he won’t have to go through the 90-day non compete clause.

The 41-year old was a very physical wrestler full of potential.WWE couldn’t utilise him to a T. He had the makings of a world champion, but he had to be content with tag titles and the United States Championship title.
