Roman Reigns and Jey Uso attacked Shinsuke Nakamura to cost him a win
Cesaro was on hand to defend his ‘friend’ Shinsuke Nakamura on Twitter after the Japanese was viciously attacked by Roman Reigns and Jey Uso.
This week’s WWE SmackDown took a surprising turn after Adam Pearce announced a gauntlet match as the main event. The match was supposed to decide Reigns’ contender at Royal Rumble, but this irked the Big Dog.
Paul Heyman then pulled strings to have Pearce himself involved in the match. The 42-year-old producer/official was the last entrant in the match, with just Shinsuke Nakamura standing between him and a win.
Reigns and Uso attacked both Nakamura as well as Pearce, and put the latter’s body on top of Nakamura. This meant that Pearce won the match and would face the Tribal Chief in the PPV scheduled for January 31st this year.
Shinsuke Nakamura had a great opportunity stolen from his hands by Roman Reigns
Reigns attacking Nakamura cost the former NXT Champion a shot at the WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble. Needless to say, his friend Cesaro was not pleased by this.
The Swiss superstar took to his Twitter to quote the video of the attack on Nakamura and warned Uso and Reigns to not attack his friend.
Nakamura was on fire in the ring. Before Pearce’s entry, he had eliminated Rey Mysterio, King Corbin, as well as Daniel Bryan.
With the momentum that he had, he would have surely pinned Pearce. However, as almost everyone could guess when Pearce’s entry was confirmed in the gauntlet match, he was going to win.
The storyline is definitely not the most seamless but the on-screen persona of Reigns, Heyman, and Pearce made it seem a lot better.
