Drew McIntyre is enjoying his time as the current WWE Champion but also spoke of his future plans
Drew McIntyre, the WWE Champion, was speaking on the Seventy Six Capital Leadership Series and opened up on several topics.
The Scot spoke at length about how the passing away of his mother affected him and led to his darkest days.
McIntyre was fired by WWE before he made a huge comeback. He worked hard in other promotions before being re-signed by WWE. McIntyre then won the 2020 Royal Rumble before picking up the gold at WrestleMania 36.
Other WWE stars have moved on to other projects with The Rock becoming a movie star. The Miz and his wife, Maryse, also have their own TV show and McIntyre was asked about his plans for the future.
McIntyre was happy concentrating on his WWE career but was open to other projects too (h/t Fightful):
“I’m very open to hearing pitches. People come to me all the time with potential ideas. My big thing is that if I can help, I want to make a difference.”
McIntyre then claimed that he was committed to WWE and wanted to stick with the business of wrestling after he retired.
However, he would be more than happy to help out others for the right projects:
“When I retire, I will still work in this industry in some capacity. If there is some avenue that I feel will help my brand, I will go there. More specifically, if I can make a difference for somebody, I will be there at the drop of the hat.”
Drew McIntyre coming up in a movie?
John Cena, Randy Orton and The Rock have also featured in several movies during and after their WWE careers.
McIntyre also opened up on the future of this possibility and had a hilarious take on this too:
“Everyone asks, ‘are you going to do movies or TV shows one day?’ Maybe one day. If they do Braveheart 2 where they put Wallace back together and he comes back as a zombie, I’ll play him. Right now, I’m very focused on WWE.”
McIntyre, for now, has to worry about the Elimination Chamber. He is to defend his title in the Elimination Chamber and faces five big rivals.
AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, Sheamus and The Miz will all try to get the title off the Scot in a few weeks.
