Edge and Christian had a great reunion at the 2021 Royal Rumble but Captain Charisma joined AEW at Revolution 2021
AEW had been teasing the joining of a great champion ahead of Revolution 2021. There were rumours circulating of who that could be and it was a bit of a surprise regarding the reveal.
Christian Cage, a former WWE star and champion, came out to the shock of some as he signed with AEW.
Cage is a former tag team champion with Edge, who is currently set to headline Wrestling 37. The Rated-R Superstar and Christian had a great moment in the 2021 Royal Rumble as it was Christian who made a return to WWE.
However, all of that is gone now as Christian starts a new journey in AEW and it will be interesting to see how things develop with him.
He could be battling for the AEW title or other titles and is keen on performing regularly. Christian does seem to be in great shape too but this move sees the end of a dream for another WWE star.
Jey Uso might be doing a great job in the singles department since his brother, Jimmy, picked up an injury.
One half of the Uso has been doing well with Roman Reigns but he wanted to face Christian and Edge.
The Usos have battled team 3D and the Hardy Boyz but this is the only team from that crazy WrestleMania 17 TLC match that they are yet to face.
Jey is a multiple time WWE Tag Team champion and shared his thoughts on fighting Edge and Christian to Fox Sports (h/t WrestleTalk):
“We had the Hardy Boyz, and then we had the Dudley Boyz … that’s one more team I have to mark off. They’re the OGs of the tag division. That triple-threat ladder match at WrestleMania, bro, like, c’mon.
“Two out of the three teams, me and my brother got to be blessed to work with … that’s another bucket list. Straight up.”
Christian’s move might have ended the dreams of teaming up with Edge again. However, Captain Charisma getting regular wrestling time could be a great thing for all.
