Charlotte Flair replied to CM Punk making fun of WWE CEO Vince McMahon on her tweet

A few days back, Charlotte Flair was on commentary duty in a match on RAW between WWE RAW women’s champion Rhea Ripley, and Asuka.

She posted a photo of herself in the commentary booth and asked fans to give it a fitting caption.

One of the responders was former WWE and UFC star, CM Punk. He replied, “GODDAMNIT PAL WATCH THE MONITORS AND STOP SAYING WRESTLING PAL.”

This was a jab at McMahon being in the ears of commentators on the show, something which Punk also had to endure when he was on the mic during his WWE stint.

And speaking recently in an interview with Hindustan Times (h/t Comic Book), Charlotte addressed the whole thing.

Charlotte Flair tells CM Punk “no one is buzzing in my ear”

She had initially not replied to Punk’s tweet as she probably wanted to sway from controversy. But in the interview, she mentioned that Vince was not in her ears at all.

“No one is buzzing me in my ear. I have known Byron Saxton and Corey Graves for a very long time. It was just great to be out there with them, feeling as confident as ever. No, Vince doesn’t buzz me in my ear about anything.”

Flair then talked about her issue with the Lacey Evans storyline, something that her dad himself addressed recently.

‘The Queen’ stated that more than it being about Lacey, she just did not want to be in her dad’s shadow anymore. Charlotte said that she wanted to build her own legacy.

“It wasn’t so much about Lacey. It is very difficult with my dad. I had an extensive amount of time off for the first time ever in my career, I was eager and excited to come back and start fresh. I wanted to add layers to my characters as I felt stale. I wanted these changes. When my dad got brought into the picture, I was like man it’s 2021 and I don’t want to share the screen with my dad. I am Charlotte Flair now, I am not longer Ric Flair’s daughter, that’s Charlotte’s dad. I was like why I have to be on TV with my dad. I don’t want anyone to think that is selfish, anyone would love to share screen with their dad. But if anyone’s followed my career, all I have done since day one is pave my own legacy.”

Charlotte was on the losing end last weekend at WrestleMania Backlash where Rhea Ripley retained her title in a triple threat match with her and Asuka. However, she beat Asuka on RAW the following day and it seems like she will get another title shot now.
