SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair recalls calling out Ronda Rousey back in the day
It was 6 years back when 29-year old Charlotte Flair dared Ronda Rousey to step foot into her ring when the latter revealed that she wanted to have a crack at WWE‘s top women’s prize.
Here is her callout (this one, three years ago):
After Rousey made her cameo with The Rock at WrestleMania and had a sensational standoff with The Authority’s Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in March. Rousey was teasing about wanting an actual match at WWE.
Flair responded to the comments with an open challenge, tweeting, “Come get it … Anytime, Anywhere.”
After six years, she posted the same news post on Twitter and said,
“6 years in the making.”
Ronda Rousey made her appearance on Friday Night Smackdown and challenged Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 38. WWE on Fox’s Twitter account uploaded a post where they called Rousey the “Baddest Woman on the Planet.”
But Flair saw the Tweet, took a dig at it, and cleared it that she should be called the “Badddest Woman on the Planet” and was unhappy with Rousey being called that name.
You must be confused; I’m on #Smackdown every week
Charlotte is set to defend her title against Rousey at WrestleMania 38, and it is going to be tough for her. It will be interesting to see who takes the win in the end.
