Charlotte Flair last appeared in WWE during her “I Quit” match against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash. The Queen lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Rousey at the event.
In a brutal and intense match that received huge praise from the fans, Rousey managed to force Flair to say “I quit” after locking in the armbar using a steel chair. Kayla Braxton revealed later on in the show that Flair had suffered a fracture of the radius. Pat McAfee added that Flair essentially had a broken arm.
Fightful reported back then that it was a kayfabe injury meant to write Flair off the TV for some time. The multi-time world champion used the time off to marry her fiance Andrade El Idolo. Flair and Andrade had their wedding ceremony at Hacienda Mi Ranchito in Torreon, Andrade’s hometown.
Superstars like Apollo Crews, Rey Mysterio, and Nia Jax were present on the auspicious occasion. Flair and Andrade got engaged back in January 2020.
Fans are waiting to see the former SmackDown Women’s Champion back in action soon.
Charlotte Flair’s husband Andrade El Idolo is signed to AEW. The Mexican star made his return to AEW Dynamite this week. Fans have started speculating that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion might also make her to the squared circle this Friday night on SmackDown.
Well, it seems that fans of Flair would have to wait for a little longer to see her back in WWE. PWInsider reported that they have been told by sources that Flair is not scheduled at tomorrow’s SmackDown taping.
Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Natalya next. However, WWE has not mentioned when and where the match would take place.
