Charlotte Flair reveals why she calls herself ‘The Opportunity’ on WWE
Charlotte Flair is one of the most provocative figures in all of WWE and with 13 title reigns behind her, her pedigree is not up for debate.
She missed out on WrestleMania 37 but then came back on RAW soon after to go on a rant that made fans doubt if it was scripted or just her raw emotions.
It’s highly unlikely that a WWE star would ever go rogue like that but she did address the real-life criticism she faces from fans of stealing opportunities from other female stars.
To this, she said that it because she herself is ‘The Opportunity’. And she addressed this in her latest interview with WWE’s The Bump (h/t Fightful) as she explained the reasoning behind that nickname.
“I think that’s kind of the idea of being ‘The Opportunity.’ Everyone [says], ‘Oh, she takes everyone’s opportunity!’ So, you spin it and you put some truth into it. ‘Well, yeah. Because I am ‘The Opportunity’.”
It’s a rare occurrence that Charlotte Flair is currently holding no belts. She is a grand slam champion and a triple crown winner and is always either holding a belt, or is pushing to win it.
Right now, it seems that she has been given the push to feud with Rhea Ripley for the RAW women’s championship on the red brand.
But according to her own self, ‘The Queen’ says that while the belts continue to be important, she doesn’t need them to be the champion.
“I don’t want to diminish what the championships mean and I don’t want to say ‘bigger,’ but I don’t need to hold a championship to be the champion.”
Well, fair enough, and we hope that WWE also agrees with that statement and keeps her away from more shots for the belt, at least for the near future.
