Chavo Guerrero Jr. takes a dig at wrestler after Seth Rollins is attacked by a fan
Former WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero Jr. has taken a dig at wrestler Seth Rollins after the latter was attacked by a fan on Monday Night RAW.
Chavo took to social media platform Twitter and gave his views on the incident. A former 4-time Cruiserweight Champion tweeted:
“Remember when the wrestlers were tougher than the fans? Ah, the good ol’ days.”
However, the tweet received immediate backlash from the fans, as some highlighted that Rollins had the fan in a choke before the referees and officials rushed in
Rollins was attacked during Raw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Monday night and one person was arrested in the incident.
Rollins was heading backstage after a match with Finn Balor when a fan jumped the barricade and attacked him from behind.
Although the wrestling match never started as Rollins assaulted Balor before the bell rang and started walking off.
Thankfully, referees and security were on their toes and quickly tackled the attacker from behind and was removed from the arena.
The incident came after Rollins participated in the Survivor Series 5-on-5 elimination tag match at the pay-per-view at the same arena. Rollins impressed in the match as he became the sole survivor for Team RAW. He is also set to challenge WWE Champion Big E for his title.
“Elisah Spencer, 24, was charged with attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs (disrupting live sporting event) for his attack on WWE wrestler Seth Rollins during the Raw television show Monday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn”, as per the NYPD.
According to the police, Rollins suffered swelling to his lip, but refused medical attention.
After the ugly incident, WWE has released a statement about the Seth Rollins attack. The statement reads:
“WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
