Chelsea Green ‘fired up’ for podcast as she opens up on future
Taking to social media, former WWE superstar Chelsea Green has opened up on her future plans following her release from the company.
Exactly a year after the mass releases of 2020, WWE once again let go of ten wrestlers on Thursday due to budget cuts. And Green was among the performers released along with the likes of Samoa Joe, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay among others.
Green had been with WWE since 2018, after having made a few sporadic appearances back in 2014 and 2015. The 30-year-old had some terrible luck with injuries for a large part of her tenure with Vince McMahon’s pro-wrestling giants.
The 30-year-old was set for a big push on the main roster ahead of Survivor Series last year but a wrist injury meant that she had been off screen since. It, however, looked like WWE had big plans for considering that Green had signed a new three-year contract soon after her injury.
However, turned out, Green was axed by WWE, just like her real-life Matt Cardona (aka Zack Ryder) last year.
Green excited for what’s next
Following her release, Green, on her Twitter, claimed that she was inspired by the number of messages that flowed in, which motivated her to dive into her next project right away. She also thanked Cardona for being her support system before hinting at starting up a podcast.
Green seems set to follow in the footsteps of fellow Canadian and former WWE host Renee Paquette by kicking off a podcast of her own.
Green never really got to showcase her complete array of skills on WWE, partly due to injuries and partly due to being mismanaged.
From being on the verge of a massive push to see it stall because of injury and then getting released can be a bitter blow. However, it looks like Chelsea has already chalked out plans for what’s next.
A podcast, may be an appearance on IMPACT with Cardona somewhere down the line? A world full of possibilities.
