Chris kanyon Dark Side of the Ring episode makes certain revelations about Ric Flair
The latest Dark Side of the Ring episode will be based on the late wrestler Chris Kanyon. It reveals that Ric Flair had claimed that Kanyon was not good enough to make it in the WWE. As Kanyon was released by the WWE. Kanyon was an openly gay wrestler and he thought he was being released because of it.
Later in 2006 when Flair claimed that Kanyon was just not good enough and it was not because of his sexual orientation. Upon hearing this Kanyon was devastated and also contemplated suicide. It was mainly because Kanyon had looked up to Flair as an idol.
What did Ric Flair have to say?
After Flair’s comments resurfaced he issued a statement on Twitter:
“Breaks my heart to hear later on that he took this so hard. Calling into guests that were seen as “hostile” to WWE was part of the job then. I should not have said that nobody had “ever” been released; there’s no way I could have known that for sure.”
“I was holding the company line. Love is love is love is love and everyone should be able to love whoever and however they choose without fear of reprisal. I wasn’t a huge Kanyon fan as a worker; but Chris Klucsarits was a hell of a good guy.”
Kanyon also struggled with depression and bipolar disorder and decided to take his life in 2010. Flair certainly has opened up about the incident and regrets that his comments so seriously were taken by Kanyon.
