WWE cut 6 big Superstars from the company on Wednesday night as part of their releases
Former WWE Champion CM Punk has broken his silence on the mismanagement of talent by WWE branding them as “bankrupt nincompoops.”
Punk was responding to a tweet shared by Bloody Disgusting editor John Squires. Squires was questioning WWE’s ability to make the most of the talent which they posess, something CM Punk believes he himself suffered from while being part of the company.
“It’s like a movie with a blockbuster budget and cast, but if it’s written by creatively bankrupt nincompoops specifically for an audience of one, in a language nobody understands anymore, it’s…..trash,” Punk tweeted. “But people watch it because they like movies.”
WWE announced releases of Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Ruby Riott, Buddy Murphy, and Santana Garrett. on Wednesday night.
Punk went on to add that things seemed to be written in a language that no one understands these days and dubbed the product “trash.” He then stated that people keep the viewership going simply because “they like movies.”
CM Punk saw a lot of success in WWE. He even captured many prestigious WWE titles in his more than a decade long run and feuded with legends like John Cena, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker and others.
Punk parted ways with WWE in 2014. The former champion had become increasingly frustrated with how WWE was run and how it treated its talent. He had various disagreements with management multiple times and was eventually fired by the company on his wedding day.
Punk’s career officially ended in the quietest way possible. WWE moved his profile to the “WWE Alumni” section of the company’s website.
Punk signed with UFC in 2015, where he suffered a loss both his matches. The 42-year-old went 0-2 in the octagon before getting released by the mega MMA promotion in 2018. He eventually moved to WWE on FOX Network as an analyst.
More recently, Punk claimed he is not seeking a return to the wrestling business in the near future.
Punk also said that he was interested in wrestling Kenny Omega than Triple H.
