Cody Rhodes responded to rumors surrounding Bray Wyatt signing with AEW

Bray Wyatt was released from the WWE on the 31st of July. The long-standing superstar who was known for his terrifying gimmicks had been making sporadic appearances in the promotion since TLC 2020.

And since he never made an in-ring appearance after WrestleMania 37 rumors already began spreading a couple of weeks ago that something might be wrong.

However, Wrestling Observer claimed that he was absent due to medical issues and might soon be back. He never was.

Now that, Wyatt has been released, the obvious destination for him might be the second-biggest professional wrestling promotion in the world – AEW.

AEW Vice President and former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes responded to speculations of Wyatt signing with AEW.

Rhodes was busy promoting the specials AEW Dynamite: Homecoming at a multi-media telephone press conference. And that was when he addressed the Bray Wyatt scenario.

While Rhodes did acknowledge the creativity that came along with someone like Wyatt, he did say that he wouldn’t be able to comment on him signing for the promotion.

Rhodes said:

“I can’t comment on whether or not I see a place for him with us at AEW. [Bray] Wyatt is an incredibly creative individual, he’s an incredibly creative man. Every time I see someone lose their job or move on to the next phase of their career, I can only say that those people will be fine. I am related to Wyatt. I left WWE, but I found my own way in the world. No matter where you go, you will do great things.” [via SuperLuchas]

Mickie James unhappy with Bray Wyatt’s release

WWE veteran women’s superstar Mickie James who was released from the promotion earlier this year, was not happy with the sudden release of Bray Wyatt.

Taking to Twitter she wrote:

“I think what you meant to say was: ‘Thank you so much for coming up with such an incredible gimmick(time & time again)one so cool & over, we really didn’t know how to book it right. So we just gave it to someone else so we can still make ALL the money off of it & let you go.’”
