Cody Rhodes suffered a torn pectoral while training for his match at Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view against Seth Rollins.
Despite the injury, the American Nightmare insisted on competing against Rollins at Hell in a Cell. WWE’s medical team allowed him to compete and Rhodes put up a staggering effort to triumph over the Visionary with such a painful injury.
WWE had confirmed Rhodes’ unfortunate injury hours before the Hell in a Cell event. The former Intercontinental Champion had a severely bruised chest during his match. The injury could keep the popular superstar out of action for close to six months if not more.
However, an optimistic Rhodes addressed the WWE Universe this week on RAW and hoped that he could make a miraculous comeback at WWE’s upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view which is less than a month away.
The former AEW Superstar shared a few pictures on his Instagram account where the bruise seems to have gotten lighter over the days.
