Cody Rhodes received a huge pop when he appeared on the stage. He won a riveting match against one of the best in the business. Afterward, WWE shared an emotional behind-the-scenes video of The American Nightmare preparing for his first match in the company in six years and his reaction after winning.

Cody mentioned how tough it was for him to hide in the bus taking him to the AT & T Stadium in Arlington, Texas where WrestleMania took place. He had to keep his presence at WrestleMania a secret as he was Rollins’ mystery opponent for later in the night and more people getting the sight of him before his entrance would ruin the surprise.

I think earlier today I’m so unhappy talking to everybody because I was just hiding in that bus claustrophobic trying to do everything I could to stretch and get ready,” Cody Rhodes said. “Family popping in and out, some of the guys finding out. And I was committed to I’m gonna throw on my robe and walk to go position to gorilla, but they had me put the hood on sweats on. Running by everybody and media trying to take pictures it was such a unique experience. But to have never seen the crowd, I had never seen them, but to come up and see them. That’s what we do.”

Who could be Cody Rhodes’ next opponent?

Cody Rhodes’ first stint was impressive in parts but lacked good storylines for most. Lack of creative ideas were one of the reasons behind him taking release from the company.

This time, however, Cody has returned as one of the biggest names in the current pro-wrestling circuit. It is expected that he will have some memorable feuds in the coming weeks. On Night 2 of WrestleMania, we saw Edge and Damien Priest seemingly forming a faction after the latter’s distraction helped the Rated-R Superstar to pick up a huge win against AJ Styles.

Rhodes could be partnering Styles to take on Edge and Priest and build up to a match against the Hall of Famer somewhere down the line, maybe at SummerSlam.

The American Nightmare might also be going after the WWE United States Championship currently held by Finn Balor. That has the potential of producing another dream match. After receiving a thrashing at the hands of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kevin Owens would be looking for redemption. The former Universal champion could be attacking Rhodes to start a feud that will also be exciting for sure.

Roman Reigns won his match against Brock Lesnar and became the Unified Champion. Whether Rhodes directly goes after the biggest prize will be interesting to see.
